Wire Decking Sizing Guide & FAQ

Wire decking sizes

U-channel, flared channel and inverted flared channel wire decking are offered in these sizes (width x depth):

  • 46" W x 24", 36", 42", 44" or 48" D - for 48", 96" or 144" wide pallet rack
  • 52" W x 24", 36", 42" or 48" D - for 108" wide pallet rack
  • 58" W x 24", 36", 42", 48" or 52" D - for 120" wide pallet rack

Deck depth matches the rack (upright frame) depth. Decks are compatible with 1 5/8" pallet rack step beams.

Capacity options

  • U-channel wire decking: 2000-2400 lbs
  • Flared and inverted flared channel wire decking: 2000-2400 lbs or 2500-3000 lbs

Capacity is per deck, based on evenly distributed loads. Using the deck does not add capacity beyond the total beam capacity.

Step beams

  • Lengths: 48", 96", 108", 120", 144"
  • Heights: 3" to 6" (in 1/2" steps)
  • Material thickness: 14 or 16 gauge; 3-pin and 4-pin versions
  • Step beams feature a 1 5/8" step for decking or pallet support bar positioning.

Teardrop upright frames

  • Depths: 36", 42", 48"
  • Heights: 96" to 336"

FAQ

Do I need tools to install wire decking?
No. Wire decking drops into place on pallet rack; no tools are required.

What finish is the decking?
Powder-coated mesh, which maximizes sprinkler efficiency and resists rust and corrosion.

Which size do I need?
